Black and White Wedding Photography | Hilton Waterfront Huntington Beach

July 1, 2008

There was a time when shooting black and white wedding photography meant having a dedicated camera with specific film in it. Since the switch to digital photography, most wedding photographers generally shoot the entire wedding day in color. In post-production the images will be desaturated and receive contrast adjustments. The following pictures were photographed first in color and then in “post” they were switched to black/white. They are all from a recent wedding at the Waterfron Hilton Huntington Beach . . .

I have found that the more striking black and white wedding photography images have very black blacks and very white whites (as opposed to having gray blacks and gray whites) . . .

Great photojournalistic first dance shot . .

Good luck! But most importantly have fun converting your color wedding photography to black and white. ;)
